May was Cobequid Month!

May was Cobequid Month!

May is a special month for the Cobequid Foundation. This year, we launched May Month, during which we partner with groups and organisations in our community in order to continuously improve the service here at the Cobequid Health Centre. During the month of May, the Foundation encouraged local groups and businesses to organise different fundraisers to support enhancements to the Emergency Department in the Health Centre. Many different clubs, groups, schools and individuals stepped forward.
Here at the Cobequid, we shared cake with patients and staff at the Centre to celebrate all that our Health Centre does for the community. We had a barbeque one sunny afternoon in the front parking lot and raised almost $900 in three hours with the help of Scotiabank, who matched the donations we received.
Thank you to the many community groups, businesses and individuals who made our Cobequid Month a success.

Cobequid Foundation Bursary Recipients for 2016

Congratulations to our bursary recipients for 2016!

Each year, the Cobequid Foundation awards a $1000 bursary to a graduating student from Lockview High School, Millwood High School, Charles P. Allen High School and Sackville High School. The student must be pursuing a post secondary education in the health care field.

The bursary was created in recognition of the outstanding contribution that the Students' Councils from each of the four schools made to the capital campaign to build the new Health Centre on Freer Lane.

Our recipients this year are:

Lewis Jenkins, Sackville High School.

Alana Currie, Lockview High School.

Haylee Marche, Millwood High School.

Anna Negulic, Charles P. Allen High School.

The Gift of Light Tree Ceremony will be held Tuesday, December 6th and is going to be a great night for all!

Cobequid Foundation's Gift of Light truly captures the spirit of the season and gives donors an opportunity to honour a loved one. Year after year, we are humbled by the generosity of our donors who not only make a difference in the lives or those being honoured on our tree, but also in the lives of patients and their families seeking care at the Cobequid Community Health Centre.

For every light the shines, a warm memory is close at hand!

Angels In Action - Put Wings On An Angel

Perhaps it was a staff member, volunteer, nurse, doctor, x-ray or lab technician who made a difference during your care at the Cobequid Community Health Centre.

The Angels In Action program allows grateful patients to support the Cobequid Centre while paying tribute to someone who has made a difference during their care.

Say thank you by making a donation to support the Cobequid Centre while honouring someone special.  Your Angel In Action will recieve a unique pin recognizing their work.

Staff can also honour colleagues who are doing great work.  You can help promote this program by letting grateful patients, their loved ones and other employess know about Angels In Action.

Thanks to all of your generous donations we are less than $100 away from our goal of funding a new Portable Cardiac Monitor for the Cobequid Community Health Centre!
